Thomas Davis Newingham, 90, of Lansdale, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 25, 2022. He was born in Derry, Pennsylvania to the late Bryan and Katherine (nee Davis) Newingham and was raised in Swissvale, Pennsylvania.
He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Tom served honorably in the United States Army and was stationed in Ulm, Germany for two years during the Korean War.
He was a manager for Sun Oil Co. and later for the Lubrizol Corp. He held six patents and belonged to numerous engineering societies.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge 582 and the Valley of Wilmington Consistory. He was also a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church.
Tom enjoyed competitive bridge, bowling, golf, fishing and traveling.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Donna (née Timmins) Newingham; daughter, Linda (Uwe) Ross; son, Thomas Newingham; and two grandchildren, Michael and Kaitlyn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Newingham.
A funeral service will be held on Friday December 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home located at 145 Tennis Ave, Ambler, PA 19002. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
